Pisa-Cordoba International Conference of European Cathedrals

The theme of this edition is Universal Heritage: religious properties of cultural interest.
It is an opportunity to open an all-round discussion on the topic of permanent protection to which places of
worship are subject, places of faith and inclusion, often bearers of an Exceptional Universal Value, in which
multiple significances are intertwined.

This is the daily challenge that the curators of cathedrals and sacred places are engaged in, dealing with the management of cultural and artistic aspects, respecting the integrity and authenticity of the living heritage of places of worship and the religious and devotional feelings of the communities.

This year the conference is the result of a collaboration with the Córdoba Cathedral Chapter, responsible
for the management of the Mosque-Cathedral, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of its inclusion in the
UNESCO list. With this prestigious monumental building, we share material and immaterial values, which,
like the most important places of European faith, we are called to preserve. A second conference, with the
same title, will then take place in Córdoba on 27 and 28 November.
